Job Overview:
We are looking for a self-motivated Business Development Manager to help drive the growth of our business in key regions and industries.
In this position, you will work closely with the Director of Business Development to develop and execute a sales strategy aimed at driving growth in specific regions and sectors. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities. The role is primarily office-based, with regular national and occasional international travel to meet prospective clients, attend networking events, and participate in conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify, generate, and close new sales opportunities, collaborating with the Business Development & Marketing team to target prospective clients.
- Networking and Relationship Building: Attend industry events and exhibitions to foster relationships, promote our services and generate sales.
- Sales Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute a coherent sales strategy for your assigned region and target sectors to drive growth through new account acquisition.
- Client Account Management: Manage existing client accounts to ensure consistent sales and long-term business relationships.

- Sales Experience: A strong understanding of the sales cycle in consultancy or a similar service sector, with the ability to overcome challenges and close deals effectively.
- Strategic Sales Development: Proven experience in developing and executing sales strategies within a specific industry.
- Lead Generation & Closing: Extensive experience in generating new leads, qualifying opportunities, and closing sales efficiently, in a timely manner.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong business sense, with experience or an MBA providing valuable insights into driving business growth.
- Industry Experience: Familiarity with sectors such as MedTech, LabTech & BioTech, VetCare & Animal Health, CleanTech, AgriTech, Consumer, or Food & Drink is beneficial.
- Client Interaction: Proficiency and professionalism in presenting and engaging with potential clients.
- Account Management: Proven ability to manage and grow client accounts to meet sales targets.
- Technical Proposal Writing: Experience in writing technical proposals that meet client needs.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot or similar) to track and manage opportunities.
- Engineering Background: A technical background or transferable skills in any of the relevant sectors is a requirement.
